Man I luvs me some retro trek tech with a good sprinkling of tachyon particles, but beware of gaseous anomalies .   I stumbled across the Star Trek New Voyages a few months ago; kinda giggled about it, delved a little deeper to see how bad of service these geeks would do to the classics. I was about to move on as I figured this was something that wouldn’t happen but realized it already had. They had already produced several ‘revisited’ episodes; new cast name but the same characters. My giggle turned into a cackle. So ‘they’ are making a do it yourself garage films of Star Trek.  I had to download at least one episode and see how bad it is.

Is it a disservice to Gene Rodenberry’s original, will William Shatner be rolling over in his Priceline commercials? Well, it is important to remember as you are watching these episodes the context in witch they are created, most easily done by staying up at night and watching the original series in reruns. Once you have done that you have a little more appreciation for what these guys are doing, most easily done by staying up at night and watching the original series in reruns. Once you have done that you have a little more appreciation for what these guys are doing, especially considering production cost. You can find the Star Trek New Voyages here. Episode download links on that site are here.
Now I bring this all up despite outing myself fully as a Treky but because now it seems that Hollywood and CBS are getting into the retro trek tech, do it yourself game by releasing their very own garage production of Star Trek on the web with original cast
