On today’s internet click safari I stumbled across Microsoft’s Songsmith. This thing was news to me even being into all things geek. Mostly because I’m not much into music production though I get the idea. You make noise and if people like it they give you things and praise you. If they don’t like it they ask you to go away. Somewhere along the way I guess I realized that I was one of the ones that should not be making noise. Maybe that has changed now or maybe not.

So, the idea of Songsmith is real simple in its totality. You sing into a mic attached to your computer; you mess with some slide bars and knobs in the program; you hit a button, and it sets your voice to music. Where’s the harm you might ask? Well where was the harm in the four little characters that Einstein  jotted down; E=MC2? It was what they went and did with it that bothered some folks.

Post Edit: Somewhere along the way my embed objects got chewed up and spit out. Do a search for Songsmith on YouTube to see some of the more interesting song revisions made by this tool.
